About Simon Daniel

In 1980 Simon Daniel began his career at Westrex, assembling and testing Mono Light Valves and testing Optical Cameras. He worked with clients in Hollywood and all over the world on 35mm and 16mm mono cameras. In June of the following year he began working with Nuoptix on a stereo optical sound camera using a Westrex Light Valve.

In 1984, he left Westrex to start Simon Daniel Sound and has worked closely with Nuoptix ever since. 1984 also marked the year he began transferring sound onto soundtrack negatives.

Over the past 25 years, Simon Daniel has assembled over 60 Stereo Light Valves. He has serviced or built optical camera and light valves for Warner Brothers, Disney, Compact Video/4MC, Todd AO, and Glenn Glenn and studios around the world.
